There are a few guitars that you know are likely to be good before you even pick up them.
The six string version in their brand-new Elite shows that Jericho delivered us to critique is an ideal example. The guitar–using its flame maple top finished in a deep, translucent “blue flame” burst, neck and body silhouetted by vibrant white binding and enchanting body shape curves–is among the very attractive new versions I have seen in some time, but the big surprise is that the guitar sounds and performs much better than it seems. Check the best electric guitar top if you are interested in which electric guitar you should buy.
In the contrasting gold and black motif of this hardware into the pairing of nearly minimalist attributes with top quality tone forests, the Jericho Elite guarantees a perfect union of sound, playability, great looks and worth.
The Elite is made of Jericho’s secret stash of tone forests, the majority of which were chosen in Canada. The human anatomy is featherlight ash capped with a coating of beautifully adorned flame maple; the throat has rock solid three-piece hard maple structure, and the fretboard is a jet black blank slab of ebony that’s wholly free from inlays.
The body and neck are combined using a sleek, feel free set thru structure that combines the smoothly contoured sense of a neck-thru body design together with the tonal nature of glued-in set neck structure, and the neck includes 24 medium jumbo frets, a 25.75inch scale length, and slender, curved C-shaped profile.
The Elite’s hardware and electronic equipment are all first class. Pickups are a shameful DiMarzio Titan bridge humbucker with golden polepieces and a golden DiMarzio Titan neck humbucker with black polepieces.
The fit and finish of this Elite are pristine, with absolutely smooth shapes in all the correct places. The guitar stays perfectly balanced when strapped on, and you will find simply no rough edges, which offers the most level of enjoying relaxation–the sort of attention to detail average in luxury products such as a Rolex watch or Bentley. However, the tone is your greatest detail–sharp and full-bodied using a hifi such as clarity and range. The set thru neck layout unites the smooth texture of neck-thru body structure with the tonal nature of a glued-in set neck.
THE BOTTOM LINE
In the extraordinary attention to detail in the building and its own alluring contours to the brilliant sound quality as well as the guitar’s simple playability, Jericho’s new Elite series is really worthy of its title.
